Homeless Filipino Boy Gets Scholarship After Doing This

This picture of a 9-year-old homeless Filipino boy trying to do assignments in the road, beneath the dim light of a close by McDonald’s, has caused global donations.

“We’re overjoyed, I don’t know what I will do with all of these blessings.” Said his stunned mother Christina Espinosa, a grocery store worker who makes less than $2 a day. 

The picture on this pupil, Daniel Cabrera, went viral soon after a passerby published his photo on Facebook last month. The picture was shared almost 7,000 times. The family had got schoolbooks, clothes, a reading table lamp and a scholarship fund.

She described her son as “studious” and motivated to get the advanced degree.

Espinosa said, “He would insist on going to school even without his lunch money because I have no money to give.”

The lady, Joyce Torrefranca, who published the picture, is touched that the photo made a real difference.
