Kasadyahan Festival 2016 Rocked Iloilo City

Kasadyahan Festival 2016 – Last Saturday, the 24th of January, the Kasadyahan Festival ” Regional and Cultural Competition” amazed the visitors in Iloilo City.

Kasadyahan Festival 2015 – There are 10 tribes displayed colorful choreography and stunning multi-colored costumes.

 

 

 

 

A year right after Dinagyang Festival started, the largest festivity in Iloilo – Kasadyahan, was started by the provincial government – that has been at first a Mardi Gras celebration – that can help improve the cultural variety within the province as well as preserve old traditions. Right now, it is took part by various towns throughout Iloilo, and other neighboring towns from the regions. 

The Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, Iloilo was the first tribe to perform. Salakayan comes from the local word “salakay: meaning “to attack”, the touching production represents the fight of the locals against the Moro raiders.

The visitors were surprised by a noisy blast from the canyon as contestant from “Sigabong ng mga Kanyon ng Bago City of Negros Occidental” appeared.

Among the best performances was those of Tribu Tatusan coming from Caluya, Antique consists of cheerful 70 performers, 30 band members, 30 props men as well as 60 assistance staff. Not known to a lot of tourists, Caluya offers paradisiacal beaches.

Tribu Kaing of Leon, Iloilo also rocked the thoroughfares. “Leon known as a major supplier of vegetables in Iloilo boasts of Bucari known as the Little Baguio of the province. I have tried their sweet heavenly strawberries,” Antoine Greg, who emceed the event, revealed. Padagyaw ng Astorga of Dumarao, Capiz was also present during the revelry. As you might have surmised, Guimaras contingents clad in yellow costumes showcased what they are known for – one of the world’s sweetest mangoes! 

Other participants such as Tribu Pantat ng Zarraga, Iloilo, Tribu Solodnon likewise displayed elegant performances. The 2 famous groups – Maskara Festival of Bacolod City, and Pinta Flores of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental impressed the viewers for their intricate as well as sparkly costumes, and complicated as well as lavish choreography.
